Velvet Bean started because we needed a place like this and it didn't exist. A space that doesn't ask you to explain yourself — where showing up in yesterday's mascara or with a toddler on your hip is completely normal.
Founded in 2024 by a single mom who was tired of feeling like an afterthought at every coffee shop in town, Velvet Bean is built around the idea that you deserve a moment that's yours. No rush, no looks, no perfectly curated vibes that make you feel like you're doing it wrong.
We source our beans directly from smallholder farms, paying above fair-trade prices because good things should be built on honest relationships. Every batch is roasted in-house. The coffee is serious. The dress code is not.
